flooring requests and at least fifty percent (50%) of the unit (excluding the kitchen and bathrooms)
shall be carpeted . When carpeting in the main living room area and bedrooms is replaced with
alternative flooring materials, the following soundproofing standards will be be required.
(IIC) Impact Insulation Class and (STC ) Sound Transmission Class sound testing procedures are all
included in the Florida Building Code as official test methods for sound evaluation.
Flooring materials must have an IIC-STC minimum rating greater than 60 for a 6'' concrete slab
foundation. Using materials that have a soundproofing rating closer to and approaching or
exceeding an llC- STC
